Home Icon Apportionment Commission

This body apportions the County into Commissioner Districts every 10 years following the decennial U.S. Census.  It consists of the County Clerk, the County Treasurer, the Prosecuting Attorney, and the statutory County Chairperson of each of the 2 political parties receiving the greatest number of votes cast for the office of Secretary of State in the last preceding general election. The County Board of Commissioners has no involvement with appointing the members of the Apportionment Commission. It is required under MCL 46.401 et seq.
