Board Members of the Livingston County Community Mental Health Authority Board (LCCMHA) are expected to attend two scheduled meetings per month. All meetings are open to the public. Board members, along with the Executive Director and staff, discuss and approve the following: the annual budget and any amendments; provides oversight of the Strategic Plan; reviews and evaluates the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of services/contracts and; establish general policy guidelines for the executive director to operate the CMHSP. The composition of a community mental health services board shall be representative of mental health services, recipients or primary consumers of mental health services, secondary consumers of individuals being served, agencies and occupations having a working involvement with mental health services, and the general public. Board members will receive per diem and mileage for their attendance to all committee meetings.
Board Information
The County established the County Community Mental Health agency as a Community Mental health Authority under MCL 330.1205. The County Board of Commissioners appoints the members of the Authority Board, which may include up to four County Commissioners. MCL 330.1222. This Board is required by MCL 330.1212.
Livingston County established a 12-member community mental health services board. In accordance of Sec. 222, composition of a community mental health services board shall be representative of providers of mental health services, recipients or primary consumers of mental health services, agencies and occupations having a working involvement with mental health services, and the general public.
At least one of the members shall be primary consumers or family members, and of that at least 2 of those members shall be primary consumers.
Not more than (4) four members of a board may be county commissioners.
Not more than (2) two of the total board members may be state, county, or local public officials. For purposes of this section, public officials are defined as individuals serving in an elected or appointed public office or employed more than 20 hours per week by an agency of federal, state, city, or local government. A board member shall have his or her primary place of residence in the county he or she represents.
All board members shall be 18 years of age or older.
