This is a lake improvement board established under Part 309 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, either by County Board Resolution or petition of the property owners abutting an inland lake. MCL 324.30903(1)(a).

The Lake Improvement Board is comprised of a member of the board of County Commissioners, two members of the local unit of government (city/village/township), a lakefront property owner, and the County Drain Commissioner.
